FDP Direct Delivery
- Direct Delivery Overview:
- Direct delivery is the simplest way to claim entitlement. SFAs select the items they would like to receive on the annual survey. Then they are awarded their final items. Once the items arrive at the state warehouse, SFAs can order them in on monthly deliveries. Each USDA Food product comes with a food fact sheet. Advantages of Direct Delivery
- Simple program, no procurement necessary
- Items are completely free of charge
- Wide variety of shelf stable products
- Food Fact Sheets available for nutrition facts and crediting of each product
- No minimum orders per item (still must meet monthly delivery minimums for whole shipment)
Disadvantages of Direct Delivery
- SFAs must request USDA food in February of previous school year
- Products may not be available to order at the start of the school year
- Deliveries are only available once per month
- SFAs must order at least 20 cases per monthly order
- Any unused product can be reallocated to other schools as needed
