The State Record Center in Clearfield:

• Stores inactive records (access less than a month or less).
• Storage is free.
• The LEA retains ownership/custody. 
• Disposition is determined by the retention schedule. 
• Boxes/files can be recalled.
• Cannot take electronic records.
• A transfer form Links to an external site. must be completed to send the records.

State Archives in Salt Lake City:

• Stores historical records. 
• The State Archives has ownership/custody of the records.
• Records can be accessed in the reference room.
• Accepts historical electronic records.
• A transfer form Links to an external site. must be completed to send the records.
