Patriotic Reflection

Take a minute to reflect on the patriotic symbols and citizenship traditions in America. What do they mean to you? Why are they important to American Citizens? Choose one of the following reflection activities.

Art Project - (Include one or more symbols in your art, and include a statement with the project that answers the above questions)

Video Recording: Video yourself talking about one or more of the symbols discussed. Explain the symbol/s and its meaning. Tell the class why it is important to you and America.

Dear America Letter: Write a letter to America.  Tell her why she is important to you and explain to her how the symbols help us remember her and the important parts of history that helped her to be a strong nation today.

Acrostic or Haiku Poem: Choose one of the Patriotic Symbols or traditions and create either an Acrostic or a Haiku poem to explain why it is important and some of the meanings.
