3.SCI.2.2.14 Interactions in the environment
Nonliving and living things interact in an environment. Environments can be large or small. Scientists use a small-scale environment such as terrarium or aquarium to study different environments because it's easier to control what's happening. Light, moisture and air temperature are an important part of every environment because they can determine what happens there.
Organisms must be able to live comfortably in their environment. If a plant or animal is not adapted to this environment it will not survive.
Sometimes, the environment changes. It may change so much that some organisms can't live there anymore.
Scientists study ways the environment changes over time. They look for ways to help plants and animals survive in changes.
